Emily and Mario’s Elegant Wedding Celebration at DiVino Ristorante
When the daughter of a local winery owner marries her Italian sweetheart in the heart of the Yarra Valley, something truly special happens.
Emily and Mario’s wedding at DiVino Ristorante was a beautiful blend of family, tradition, food and understated elegance, capturing the spirit of la dolce vita in every moment.
A ceremony steeped in family and tradition
Emily and Mario exchanged vows beneath the summer sky, surrounded by the people who know them best. Their ceremony overlooked the vineyards, a meaningful setting for Emily who grew up among the vines of her family’s estate.
The floral styling featured classic white and blush tones, perfectly complementing the natural surroundings. Their nieces and nephews brought a joyful touch to the aisle, scattering petals and proudly carrying the rings.
As the ceremony concluded, guests were welcomed with aperitivo drinks and canapés, setting the tone for an evening filled with Italian hospitality.
A feast worthy of a vineyard celebration
Food played a central role in the celebration.
Their menu highlighted Italian flavours and generous shared dining, beginning with elegant canapés including truffle arancini, spiced cauliflower, kingfish ceviche and bocconcini caprese bites.
A shared antipasto course followed, featuring premium cured meats, marinated olives, pickles and grissini.
For mains, guests enjoyed spicy roasted spatchcock with panissa, alongside house made potato gnocchi with pork and fennel ragù.
Dessert was an indulgent pairing of coffee semifreddo and white chocolate mousse with pistachio praline.
Every course reflected the couple’s love for authentic Italian dishes, thoughtfully matched with wines.
Personalised details that told their story
A standout detail was the bomboniere, with each guest receiving a bottle of the family’s own Muscat wine. The custom labels featured the couple’s names and wedding date, offering everyone a heartfelt keepsake and a nod to the family’s winemaking heritage.
All wedding stationery, from the welcome sign to menus, place cards and the seating chart, was designed and printed in house at DiVino Ristorante to match the couple’s refined aesthetic.
With more than 140 guests, the room layout was planned with care, incorporating long tables under soft lighting, a lively dance floor, space for the DJ and MC, plus a photo booth and a gelato cart that quickly became a favourite.
A gelato cart everyone loved
No Italian celebration feels complete without gelato. Emily and Mario’s vintage gelato cart served classic flavours such as pistachio, stracciatella and lemon sorbet.
As the evening warmed up and the music picked up, the gelato station became a gathering point for guests of all ages, adding a nostalgic and playful touch to the night.
Planning and coordination
Every wedding at DiVino Ristorante includes a pre wedding tasting and planning meeting with Sofia to ensure everything flows smoothly.
For Emily and Mario, this meeting involved confirming supplier timing, aligning speeches and designing a floor plan that accommodated both large scale dining and dedicated entertainment areas.
On the night, Sofia and the DiVino team handled all coordination, from working with the MC and DJ to managing service timing, so the couple and their families could relax and enjoy their celebration.
A night to remember
As twilight settled over the Yarra Valley, the dance floor came alive beneath the glow of candles and fairy lights. Laughter, music and the sound of clinking glasses drifted across the vines, capturing everything we love about weddings at DiVino Ristorante.
Emily and Mario’s celebration was grand, warm and full of heart, a tribute to family, culture and community. It showed just how beautifully our venue can bring a couple’s story to life and turn a wedding into an unforgettable experience.
